Use subheadings for big ideas and takeaways
When writing about your takeaways, start with this framework:
- Where were you before this experience?
- Where are you now?
- Consider including your emotions and personal values, in addition to intellectual development. What was most important to you personally?
- Include concrete events or examples to illustrate your takeaways. Include pictures as often as possible!
Conclude with a “Looking Ahead” section
- Where do you want to go from here?
- Who do you want to thank (your mentor, etc.)?
